In Newfoundland & Labrador, a domestic cutting permit is required to cut and remove timber from Crown land. The harvested timber is for personal use only – not for resale, barter, or gifting.
Newfoundland & Labrador permit cost is $21, and $13.65 for senior citizens.
Local allowable amounts of timber to be cut and removed are set annually up to a maximum of 36 cubic meters stacked of timber. The set amount will be indicated on the permit.
Permits are available to residents and can be obtained by phone or mail. Proof of identification and residency is required.
